Professional rug cleaning across Melbourne
Rugs are not carpet, and treating them like fitted carpet is how they get ruined. A rug has a foundation rather than an underlay, the dyes are often far less stable, and the fringe and the edges take a different kind of wear entirely.
The two things that destroy rugs are dye bleed and a wet foundation left to dry slowly. Both are caused by putting too much water in without testing first. We test the fibre and the colourfastness, clean in place where the rug and the floor allow it, and manage the dry down so the foundation is never left damp.

Different rugs, genuinely different methods
The method is decided by the fibre, not by how dirty the rug looks.
Wool and Persian
A protein fibre that does not tolerate the alkalinity a synthetic carpet takes. Cleaned at a controlled pH with a gentler agitation, and dried faster to protect the foundation.
Viscose and art silk
The hardest fibre in the trade. It marks with plain water and the pile crushes permanently if it is over wetted. We use a low moisture method and we are honest about the limits before we start.
Synthetic and shag
Polypropylene, nylon and polyester take a full hot water extraction. Shag and high pile simply need more passes and a longer dry down because there is more fibre holding the moisture.
