Do not wait until morning

Every hour matters with wet carpet

Water wicks into underlay, up the skirting and into the subfloor within hours. Carpet that could have been dried on day one often has to be replaced by day three. Call us at any hour and we will tell you honestly what we can do and when.

What we do

How wet carpet is actually dried

Drying the carpet while the structure underneath stays wet is why so many jobs smell three weeks later. The readings are the job.

1

Extract the water

Standing water is extracted first with a truck grade unit. Every litre taken out now is hours off the drying time later.

2

Lift and inspect

We lift the carpet where the underlay is saturated and check the subfloor. Underlay that is soaked through usually cannot be saved and holding onto it prevents everything above it drying.

3

Dry the structure

Airflow and dehumidification set to dry the subfloor, the skirting and the carpet together, with readings taken so we know it is actually happening.

4

Document and clean

Moisture readings and photographs through the job, an itemised invoice for your insurer, and a clean once the structure is dry.

What we handle

Wet carpet, flooded carpet and water damage

Whatever you call it, the work is the same and the urgency is the same.

  • Burst flexi hoses and split pipes, the most common cause we see
  • Failed washing machine and dishwasher inlets
  • Hot water service failures
  • Storm water and roof leaks
  • Overflowing baths, sinks and toilets
  • Air conditioner condensate overflow
  • Flooded carpet in basements and garages
  • Emergency carpet drying after a fire hose or sprinkler discharge

A word on category. Clean water from a supply pipe is one job. Grey water from a machine or a bath is another. Sewage is another again and it is not something to save carpet from. We will tell you which one you have, because it decides whether the carpet stays or goes.

Our guarantee

Seven days to change your mind

If anything inside the scope you booked is not right, or your property manager flags it, contact us within 7 days of your clean and we come back and re clean those items at no cost. Re cleans are prioritised ahead of new bookings.

We give you a full week rather than the 48 to 72 hours most Melbourne cleaners offer, because an agent report rarely arrives the next morning.

  • Free re clean within 7 days on the booked scope
  • Re cleans jump the queue ahead of new bookings
  • Itemised invoice you can forward to your agent
  • Public liability cover on every job

Questions

Wet carpet questions, answered properly

What people ask when they are standing in it.

My carpet is soaking wet. What do I do right now?
Stop the water at the source if you can, turn the power off to that area if the water is anywhere near an outlet, lift what you can off the floor, and call us. Do not wait until morning. Wet carpet is a race, and the difference between drying it and replacing it is usually measured in hours rather than days.
How fast can you get there?
We answer 24 hours a day. When you call we will tell you honestly when we can be on site rather than giving you a number we cannot hold. Tell us the source, how long it has been wet and roughly the area affected, and we will prioritise accordingly.
Can wet carpet be saved or does it have to be replaced?
It depends almost entirely on three things: what the water was, how long it has been sitting, and whether the underlay is saturated. Clean water caught early is usually dried in place. Sewage or grey water, or anything that has been wet for days, often means the underlay comes out even when the carpet itself survives. We will tell you which situation you are in before you spend money.
What actually happens when you arrive?
We extract the standing water, lift the carpet where the underlay is saturated, then set airflow and dehumidification to dry the structure rather than just the surface. We take moisture readings as we go, because drying the carpet while the subfloor stays wet is how you get a smell three weeks later.
Will my insurance cover it?
That is between you and your insurer and it depends on your policy and the cause. What we can do is give you what a claim needs: moisture readings through the job, photographs, and an itemised invoice describing the work rather than a receipt with one line on it. Contact your insurer as early as you can.
Why does wet carpet smell even after it dries?
Because something underneath it did not dry. Moisture wicks into the underlay, up the skirting and into the subfloor, and drying only the surface leaves the rest damp. That is exactly what we are measuring for, and it is the part most rushed jobs skip.
Do you work weekends and public holidays?
Yes. Burst pipes do not keep office hours, and neither do we for this work.
Which suburbs do you cover?
All of metro Melbourne.
